Our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has tweeted on the very special occasion of Kargil Diwas that is celebrated on July 26 every year. Expressing his words of respect Modi ji wrote on Twitter ,”Remembering our great soldiers who fought gallantly for the pride of our nation and the security of our citizens during the Kargil War”.

In the year of 1999, the Kargil War took place between India and Pakistan, in which our country grabbed victory over pak soldiers. Though our victory was confirmed by July 14,1999, the official announcement of this win was made by the then Prime Minister,Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee on July 26.

This war is sometimes compared with the 1971 war between India and Pakistan, which leads the formation of Bangladesh. In the year 1999,when the Indian Army heard about some conspiracies over the Line of Control (LOC), ‘Operation Vijay’ was launched by the Indian Army at the Indian side of LOC and it successfully took control over Pakistani Soldiers.

Along with Modi other eminent political and non political personnels are also paying their homage to our soldiers and “sacrifices made by the armed forces while steadfastly keeping India safe”.
